Ava Gurekian '15
President

I am a senior at Mount Holyoke College where I major in International Relations and French and minor in Economics and I just returned from a summer in Chantilly, France where I interned at Chateau de Chantilly. Prior to that, I was abroad in Montpellier, France.  I’ve served on the MHCMUN Executive Board as the Webmanager and Crisis Trainer and have participated in almost a dozen conferences including UPMUNC, Harvard, ChoMUN, SCSY, NCSC, WPMUNI, et al.  In my “spare” time I am the President and a leader in the Mount Holyoke College Outing Club, and an Information Desk employee and DJ.  I love jazz music, long hikes, bike rides to nowhere, and good wine.

Priyanka Krishnamoorthy '15

GA Trainer / Head Delegate

Priyanka is a senior at Mount Holyoke studying Economics and Mathematics. Having been an avid MUNner since high school, she has extensive experience competing in circuits across the world and hopes to use this experience to grow the MHC team this year. On campus, she is active in the Economics Society and is planning on dedicating the majority of her free time this year to the library, in the hopes of writing a thesis. However, you will be able to entice her out of her self-imposed scholarly isolation with the promise of some (Sri Lankan) tea and healthy conversation.

Onji Bae '17
Events and Outreach Coordinator

I grew up Fort Lee, NJ and spent a pretty crazy four years in Seoul, South Korea during high school. I was actively involved in highschool MUN which helped my passions for human rights and NGO's grow. I also love mass media, tech, and graphic design! Food traveling is my favorite hobby and I also have a huge obession with Pokemon.

Elisabeth Lee '18
Webmanager

Elisabeth is a freshman and is hoping to major in history and either french or geology. She is from Minnesota and first got involved in MUN during high school. She studied abroad in India through Rotary Exchange during her senior year of high school and loves to travel, eat and read. Elisabeth is excited for conferences, especially FCMUN, and to get more involved in the wonderful community of MHCMUN!

Hashma Shahid '17
Vice President

Hashma is a sophomore aiming to major in code and international relations. A native of Lahore, Pakistan, she was enamored by MUN when she was a high school senior and has not been able to shake off theMUN bug since. Her passions outside of MUN and school involve celebrating freedom by listening to copious amounts of rap music, eating shake shack burgers, and just generally breaking it down. Please get in touch with her at shahi22h if you share her interests.

Fatima Ez - Zahra Ouadif '16
Crisis Trainer / Head Delegate

Born and raised in the beautiful Rabat, Morocco, Fatima is a junior at Mount Holyoke College. Fatima has started her active involvement with MHCMUN two years ago and is majoring in International Relations and a minoring in Law, Public Policy and Human Rights.
She has a big passion for international affairs and foreign diplomacy, which one of the main reasons why she loves munning! When she is not working on homework or doing MUN, she works as a Speaking, Arguing and Writing mentor at the college. Fatima speaks two other languages beside English, which are Arabic and French, and she LOVES listening to all kinds of Arabic music!

Thaen Kannan '17
Events and Outreach Coordinator

A sophomore majoring in International Relations and potentially English as well, Thaen loves to look at politics from the lense of literature.  She has lived in Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Cyprus and India, giving rise to a thirst for adventure and travel. She is particularly interested in trauma and development in South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, making MUN one of her ways of  engaging in debate over such topics. A MUNer since high school, she is more than happy to try her hand at creative committees like World War Z, and get people to join MUN!

Maria Saraf  '16
Treasurer

An aspiring doctor in her junior year, Maria is a biology major and politics minor. She spent most of her life in Pakistan and moved to the United States at the age of fourteen, embracing teen-hood while embracing American culture. Her interest in MUN was sparked late in college but she soon found herself more and more invested in the MUN lifestyle emulated by the more experienced MUNers at MHC. She is an involved member of the Pre-Med Association and MHC Habitat for Humanity, taking on not only intellectual but also physical challenges. In previous years, she was heavily involved with Amnesty International MHC and Kuch Karo: Pakistani Students for Change, demonstrating a passion for human rights and social change. She loves playing badminton on the side and is always up for a good match. All challengers are welcome :)
